The Horizon treadmill company are probably best known for producing a good treadmill package that is easily affordable by even those would-be exercisers on a tight budget. With a range of features that you might expect to see on higher priced fitness equipment, a Horizon treadmill offers you a great treadmill workout without breaking the bank to achieve it.
The Horizon treadmill is available in a range of models, with price tags that range from well under a thousand dollars right up to the two thousand dollar mark. Consumers who have enjoyed the budget end of the Horizon treadmill range might think about investing in a higher spec model, to try to match their treadmill workout to their ever improving fitness levels, but reviewers would advise against such a switch the Horizon treadmill is a favorite in the budget category, but treadmill ratings suggest that if you are looking to spend a little more to achieve the treadmill workout you want then another choice might be more appropriate. Though the features offered on the lower price Horizon treadmill type are second to none for a budget treadmill, the experts say that the improvements you might expect to find on a more expensive Horizon treadmill simply aren't up to scratch.
So what do you get with a Horizon treadmill? A range of features, including an easy fold system, shock absorption technology and a fan to help keep you cool while you avail of one of the pre-programmed or customisable treadmill workouts the Horizon line have to offer. But as reviewers are quick to point out, it is not the features included in the Horizon treadmill that are under scrutiny these are almost uniformly agreed to offer a great treadmill workout to anyone who purchases a Horizon. Rather it is the possibility of what might be sacrificed in the Horizon treadmill to offer these features at a budget price, namely the quality of the Horizon parts and the long-term durability of the treadmill as a whole.
The upside to this criticism of the reliability of the treadmill workout offered by a Horizon machine is that consumer reviews rate the customer service offered by the Horizon team as exemplary. Speedy and courteous, it seems that dealing with any flaw in the Horizon treadmill is not as fraction as painful as consumers frequently report their dealings with other treadmill manufacturers.
So if you are looking for a budget treadmill workout with all the trimmings, then a Horizon treadmill might just be the way for you to go. But if you want to upgrade down the line, choose another treadmill brand.

Buying a treadmill? Chances are you’ll want to comparison shop to find the best deal for you. Looking at all of the options available can often save you hundreds of dollars.
But where can you look?
There are in general 3 places you can buy your tread mill. This article will outline what you should know about each. You’ll learn the advantages and disadvantages – to help you find the best treadmill buy.
#1 Department Stores
Department stores like Walmart, Sears, and Target sell a variety of name brand treadmills in their sports and fitness departments.
What you should know: Although these stores may appear to offer several different brand names they are almost always produced by one manufacturer – Icon Health and Fitness.
Icon is one of the largest treadmill manufacturers on the market today and produces such brands as Proform, Weslo, Epic, Image, Nordic Track, Free Spirit and Reebok.
These treadmills have lots of neat gadgets like CD players, TV’s, iFit compatibility and more. However, they are not necessarily known for high quality cushioning, stability or durability.
They also typically offer short warranties. For many of the cheaper treadmills, 90 days on parts and labor is all you get. If you want a longer warranty you’ll have to pay extra for it.
Salespeople at these department stores are often not very knowledgeable about treadmills, fitness or how to choose the right treadmill based on your personal needs. So if you need to buy from a department store make sure you do your homework before you go.
Also, at a department store, you’ll usually have to pay extra for shipping and delivery of your treadmill (around $150 – $200) so that’s also an extra cost to consider.
#2 Specialty Sports and Fitness Stores
These are stores like Fitness Depot, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Sport Chalet etc.
What you should know: These stores typically offer you higher end treadmill brands like Precor, Landice, Trimline, Star Trac, Keys and more.
You technically get a larger selection at these stores because the treadmill brands are made by more than 1 giant treadmill manufacturing company.
Sales people are typically more knowledgeable at these stores and can tell you more about the treadmill models, what you need, etc. However be careful as these salespeople are often on commission and may try to pressure you into buying a higher priced machine than you actually need.
You’ll also typically have to pay for shipping and delivery of your treadmill when you buy at one of these stores (which could cost you $150-200 depending on the size of your treadmill). However if you hit these stores on a sale, you may be able to get a discount or free shipping.
#3 Online – Direct From the Manufacturer
Buying a treadmill online is an option that is growing in popularity with buyers. There are both online fitness stores and online treadmill manufacturers.
What you should know: Online manufacturers sell direct to the consumer, in effect skipping the middleman of the store. Consequently customers can save up to $800 on a brand name treadmill.
Buying online is also easy and convenient since you can research treadmill brands and prices from the comfort of your living room. You have a much larger selection of treadmill brands than either option above and can thus make a better buying decision.
Another bonus is that online distributors typically offer free shipping which can also save you a couple hundred dollars. There are no pushy salespeople to deal with so you can take your time to decide without any pressure.
The downside of buying a treadmill online is that you don’t get to walk on the treadmill first. Many people get around this by trying them out at stores first and then buying the treadmill online (if possible).
Or you could do the research and invest in a high end treadmill brand with high ratings from experts and users. (Several treadmill websites will list any expert awards or user reviews for you to read.)
So those are 3 main places to buy your treadmill. Regardless of where you buy your tread mill, remember to take your time, have fun and consider your own personal workout needs before buying.

The most important step in any endeavor, and the step that most skip right over, is defining your goal(s) for success.
The dictionary definition of success is:
Success : (n) The achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted
The important question here is, “What is your definition of success”.
Let’s use your a typical client as an example. They come to see you, as a personal trainer, in order to reach a goal. In this example their goal is to lose weight. OK, sounds like a goal to me….Or is it?
Would you start designing a training program based on the incredibly vague goal of “wanting to lose weight”. If that’s the case you may as well run them on the treadmill for a while, put them on the scale to see that they lost 1/4 of a pound and claim it a success.
Hey, they “lost weight” didn’t they?
Of course you wouldn’t do that. You would ask the client a series of questions to determine a much more specific goal:
– How much weight do you want to lose?
– By when do want to lose this weight?
– What are you willing to change/sacrifice in order to reach this goal?
– How much time and effort are you willing to put in to making this goal a reality?
– WHY is this goal important to you?
Not having a specific goal is the same as not having a destination on any other type of journey. Would you jump in your car and start driving without knowing where you were going? Or would you jump in your car with a very vague destination, say the beach?
How will you know if you’re on the right track and making strides to your destination, or goal?
How will you know when you’ve arrived?
Well, unfortunately, most fitness professionals, although they do well helping their clients define their goals, don’t take the time to define their own goals for themselves or their business. And without having specific goals, you’re driving around aimlessly hoping to eventually end up at your goal by accident.
So, it’s time for some homework.
What? You didn’t know you would actually have to do something? You thought that just reading this series of newsletters was all you’d have to do? If that’s the case, you should unsubscribe now and continue doing what you’ve been doing and getting what you’ve been getting. I mentioned in the welcoming e mail that you needed to take action to gain any results, and now it’s time to take action.
Answer the following questions as they pertain to your goals for you, as an individual, and your business. Be very specific with each answer, and now is not the time to be “realistic”. Shoot for the stars, dream big, and all the rest of the clichs you can think of. If you set mediocre goals you will achieve mediocre results. And we are not here to be mediocre. Its “Go Big or Go Home”.
After you answered the questions, write them down on a sheet of paper In The Present Tense, as if you have already achieved them.
If one of your goals is to work with professional athletes you should write down:
“I work with professional athletes and help them take their performance to the next level”
“I hope to one day work with professional athletes”
The first statement will get your mind making decisions as if you were training professional athletes now, which will lead you to make it a reality.
The second statement will continually keep you in the “hoping” mode.
After you have written them down, post them in an area or two where you will see them every day, and every day read them aloud to yourself with emotion and conviction. This one step, as unorthodox as it may sound, will begin to change your mindset in a way that will make you more focused and more passionate about reaching your goals than you could imagine.
Here are the questions:
– For you to be successful, as it relates to you, as an individual, what would you be doing on a daily basis?
ie: I own the largest and most successful Sports Improvement studio in the Northeast. I oversee 12 other Sports Improvement Specialists and personally work with the elite professional and Olympic athletes with great success. I promote my business proudly and I am recognized as THE Sports Improvement Specialist in the industry.
– For your business to be successful, what would it “look” like?
ie: My Sports Improvement Studio is a state of the art facility with the most cutting edge training equipment available. Athletes of all levels and from all sports come here knowing they will reach the goals they have set for themselves. My studio is clean, comfortable and always busy.
– For you to be successful financially, what you (you’re business) need to generate?
ie: I earn in excess of $500,000 dollars per year in passive income which allows me to live the life I always dreamed of.
– To reach this level of success, what are you willing to do?
ie: EVERY DAY I take steps to make my goals a reality.
The last statement on your list should always be:
“I DESERVE to be rich and happy because I add value to other peoples’ lives”
When you are reading this list aloud AT LEAST twice per day, be sure to vividly and emotionally visualize the outcome. See yourself working within your studio with elite athletes (in this example). See yourself talking with your staff. See the studio in all it’s glory. See yourself enjoying the life you always wanted.
In scientific studies performed, brainwave activity was measured in Olympic athletes while they performed their specific event. They were measured while the same athlete vividly imagined performing the event. The brainwave activities were the same. Your mind can not determine the difference between reality and vivid imagination.
By changing your mindset to one of success and goal achievement, the minor steps on how to get there will begin to flow to you and ideas will begin flooding your mind like never before.
